This blog has now moved to a new home.
After three years of service, I have retired this blog.
Blogger has been a good platform, but it is time this moved to it's own platform, where I can maintain and upgrade it easier. The new site now fits better with the modern web.
Almost all my blog posts have been moved over so there are no worries about lost resources, I've even preserved the post dates!
So visit my new website for code snippets and tutorials on C#, ASP.NET, MVC, SQL, HTML, CSS, JS and more.
Regards,
Adam K Dean

About the bad highlighting...
This is quite an old blog, 3 or 4 years old actually, so the design, the highlighting... it's all dated.
I am currently working on a new blog which will be hosted over at my personal website, which will be much fancier and easier to use, interact and read from. Everything will be migrated over with links preserved though.
Update: new blog is now live over at http://www.adamkdean.co.uk and the highlighting is much nicer!

Visual Studio Tools for Git
Visual Studio now has an extension to let you work with Git right from within Visual Studio. It looks pretty awesome and I can't wait to try it out. Once I get it to work.

Visual Studio 2012 Update 2 CTP 2: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36508
(Note: it may not work unless you've update your Visual Studio 2012. I've yet to get it to actually work, but if you can't, there is always this community version: http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/63a7e40d-4d71-4fbb-a23b-d262124b8f4c/)
"The Visual Studio Tools for Git is an extension for Team Explorer that provides source control integration for Git. This extension enables integration with any local Git repository, and it provides tools to work with third party hosted Git repositories. The extension also enables the use of Team Foundation Service hosted Git projects."For a preview of what is available, check out the video here:

HOW TO HANDLE TWITTER SPAMMERS
The problem with Twitter is that you never know whether someone is a spammer with malicious links or if they're a genuine person. While you can read their profile and work it out, this is generally too time consuming especially when my you get on average 3 spammers following you an hour! My Interstellar Workshop twitter account got 6 spamtarts following it within the first few hours!
I propose an Up/Down vote reputation system for Twitter profiles, this could also be used on other non-twitter platforms too. The users would be able to up/down vote a profile, such as up voting Evil Wil Wheaton and down voting spamtarts. Then you could flag the spam tarts, if they have 1) added lots of people recently and 2) have a low reputation, you could suspend them and require they do some verification steps, which the bots wont do!

It has been a while
It's been a while since I last posted, I have now moved out into my own apartment which is awesome and have been really busy with one thing and another.
I have finally got an ant colony going and you can follow the progress of that here:
Lasius Niger Journal
I have also been working on a few things such as a simulation for an ant colony (very hard trying to code ants to find water/food/build nests etc!) as well as some Google Plus stuff, but I am going to wait for the API to be honest!
Nothing much else to report..
Until next time!

Google NoFollow Test
I am wondering if Google does actually follow NoFollow links, and if they do have any bearing whatsoever on certain keywords.
So I have generated some random strings that Google will only be able to index IF it has followed no follow links!
These following links are to give Google the initial push, if it follows any deeper, it's breaking the law, break breaking the law!
